Apple Tree (Malus x domestica) ©Viola SonansApple trees (Malus) form a genus of about 50-55 species in the temperate belt of the Northern Hemisphere (Europe, North America, and Asia). They are members of the rose family (Rosaceae). This does not include the various hybrids created from cross-propagating various species. These can be in any case very difficult to distinguish.
The wood of the domesticated apple (Malus x domestica), the best known and most significant species, is dense, hard, and of moderate weight.

Dimensions: approx. 125 x 40 x 10 mm
You will get the shown pair of scales!

The piece is dry and can be processed immediately.

The scales is sanded and coated with a layer of shellac.
This allows you to see exactly the color you will obtain.

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
