The walnut tree (Juglans regia) is a native of Central and Southern Europe. It can reach heights of 50-80 feet, and sometimes even 100 feet. It is cultivated mainly for the nuts it produces. Walnuts are a real jack of all trades, rich in natural fats, vitamins, and trace elements, and are not only a tasty addition to the diets of both humans and animals, but also offer various nutritional and medicinal benefits.
This pen blank has been stabilized and fully impregnated with acrylic resin using a complex vacuum process. It absorbs virtually no water, meaning it retains its shape and no longer splits. Stabilized wood can be worked very well with sharp tools and behaves like hardwood. The stabilization process results in excellent hardness, durability, and stability. This makes it well-suited for heavy-duty use and humid environments, such as outdoor settings. Different types of wood absorb varying amounts of resin, with dense woods naturally absorbing the most.

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
