Mulberry (Morus nigra) ©HaplochromisThe mulberry (Morus nigra/alba) came to be cultivated in Northern Europe to feed the silkworm, which feeds on mulberry leaves. Silk production is no longer an economic factor, bu the mulberry trees are still standing. And that’s a good thing.
The wood of the mulberry is hard and dense. It has a yellow/greenish color and is very durable. The burl is rare and much sought after and not without reason.

Dimensions: approx. 125 x 40 x 30 mm

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
