Red Mallee (Eucalyptus oleosa) ©Ken SarkiesThe red mallee (Eucalyptus oleosa) is one of the common eucalyptus trees in Australia. The mallee occurs mainly in southwest Australia. The tree reaches heights between 50 and 65 feet.
The wood is very hard, dense, and ranges from light red to dark red in color. The grain also ranges from coarse to fine. It is good to work with when using sharp tools and polishes nicely.

Dimensions: approx. 125 x 40 x 10 mm

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
