Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata)Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata) is one of more than 300 species of eucalyptus from Australia. Due to its hardness and durability, it is also often used as fence posts.
The grain of the wood is typically permeated with resin pockets and cracks. However, these can be closed with putty and can be used as another design element. Jarrah is found in southwestern Australia, readily reaches heights of 130 feet or more and a diameter of 6 feet. The name Jarrah comes from Jerryhl, an Aboriginal name for certain species of eucalyptus.

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
