Feldahorn bei Haindlfing (Acer campestre)The Marri tree (Corymbia calophylla) grows in western Australia and is called there also Port Gregory Gum or Red Gum. He reaches stature heights of 40 meters, rarely higher. Also very rare is the particular growth form as Mallee. There are oil glands in the bark and marrow. Resin gullies of several millimeters are often visible in the wood, which start spontaneously and end again. These are very unique and may also be very decorative.
The wood is medium hard and can be worked well. Marri has a light to dark brown color, sometimes it shimmers golden or is beautifully sealed, as in this present piece. The wood is used in interior design, in furniture and decorative arts and crafts.

Dimensions: approx. 125 x 17 x 17 mm, Pen Blank for small and middle size pen kits

The pictured penblank is an example piece, you will receive a penblank which is similar in grain and color.

The delivered Penblanks are dry and can be processed immediately.

Our PenBlanks are ALL labeled, so they have a sticker with the wood species (in german).

Finely grained wood may contain imperfections such as open knots, bark inclusions, or cracks that are typical of the species. These flaws come from the way the tree has grown and are completely natural. They can usually be filled with low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue) and wood dust.
